Power Organizing
10-Minute Organizing - Organization and Efficiency Tips
Tackle clutter by “power organizing” for 10 minutes.”
Every day, choose one task: a paper-strewn desktop, a messy drawer, a disheveled closet. Now set your timer for 10 minutes and sort, toss and organize until the buzzer sounds.
The goal isn’t to finish the job in one session but to chip away at it in short, focused bursts known as “power organizing.” It won’t be long before you notice dramatic results.
Keep zip-type plastic bags and containers on hand while you work so you can stash similar clutter objects together. Put them all in one basket so when you’re done, you can take the basket to the various places these items belong and deposit them.
Avoid distractions: no phone calls, e-mails, etc.
